A day away from sailing~~~

Looking back at my file — for what ever reason…. 2-19 is missing….. reasonably sure alcohol had something to do with it…… yeah, I know, hard to believe, but I have no entry for 2/19 and at my current state of intoxication…. have no friggin’ idea where we were at or what we were doing on that particular day…….. I should probably be ashamed or embarrassed… but I am not….. we were/are living our dream….. and while I have pictures of the day (just have to find them)… I’m 99.9% sure we were having a good time, whatever we were doing……….

We got some running done today — we went and ‘pooped on a stick‘ so we could get our food handler cards renewed. These cards enable us to ‘legally’ work for a restaurant in whatever capacity they need us. We had some adjustment done to my Queens spectacles, picked up some maintenance meds at the pharmacy and then stopped by our favorite haunt for a drink “or two”...…… BaHaAhaAHaaaa…. I still can’t say that without laughing…… Sat and drank and chatted with friends about our most recent adventure in the BVI…… finally meeting up with our island ‘kids’ for some really good conversation……. -and-  before we could blink real good, LAST CALL was being bellowed….. DAMMIT Emmit~! We got our last drink… lots of kisses and hugs around as everybody started moseying out of the place….. Finally back here — I have some burgers going on the stove…… I have to have something in my belly to soak up a WHOLE lot of Vodka and Monster…. HeHeHe……..

Skipping a day on our trip to show you pictures of the pier clean up and I sure hope you enjoy them….. will try to caption the pix – but don’t hold your breath……

Good Night Ya’ll * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Thankx for stopping in~!

Onward Hooooo~~

The adventure continues….. another note written at Sea on a bouncing rolling table top. At some point, I need to sit down and map out all the places we went to and try to come up with a little map to show you all. I spent the morning on a pier clean up dive while my bride helped out as shore support – I’m still trying to get pictures I took today “off of the cloud” where ever in the hell that is at – so next boat entry and again – LOTS of pictures~~

“2-18″

Third day into our little adventure stopping first at a little cove (Cane Garden Bay). We dingyed [is that an actual word?] – A much dryer ride this time….. fun little place with lots of bars and beach chairs, a scenic pretty little beach with palm trees and lots and lots of people. We hung out there, drinking and occasionally strolling out into that beautiful blue water to cool off a little bit. One of the little bars I walked by advertised a drink called Panty Remover……. Now there is some clever marketing right there~! A name like that for a drink….. well hell yeah I had to try one. It is made out of Tequila, Rum and Vodka and then some pink stuff to make it look ‘purty’. Looking back at, yes, it is a drink you buy for women to remove their panties…..DUH~~! It actually tasted a lot better than I thought it would, and I definitely see how the name sake drink could be effective in its title. I also see how it could make you wish you were dead the next morning if you have very many of them. We had ‘several’ more drinks as we moseyed up and down the beach looking at the sites. Actually, it was me doing most of the moseying as everyone else gathered up on beach chairs and laid out soaking up sunshine. Dave did join me for part of our moseying though. He wanted to try a Panty Remover as well. He concurs of my assessment that it is a drink to be bought for the fairer persuasion. Our ‘ride’ showed up at their appointed time to dingy us back out to our boat. We were soon in route to our next mooring spot. A scenic little place called Garden Cay Marina, situated somewhere in the general vicinity of the BVI. There we had a bite of dinner, a bunch more dinks and what sounded like a rousing game of Cards Against Humanity. I worked on a whole wad of pictures while everyone sat and played.
After a breakfast of quiche, we are now under way to our next destination. A whole new experience sitting at a table trying to type and the boat rocks and rolls across a less than calm sea. While the boat is big enough to ride reasonably smooth on the water, under full sail into 4’-6’ swells….. our ride is less than ‘smooth’…… and trying to catch the keys in between bounces just adds a whole fun new dimension to my already diminished typing ability. Maybe more tonight after today’s adventures….  ”

First full day…..

First full day aboard our boat…… I did manage to get some written about it on the boat…… so gonna leave it here with you and a LOT more pictures…… I have a dive function in the morning. Another group is hosting a Pier lean up dive and I enjoy helping out on those – so my Queen and I will be up early to go support that. In the meantime – I am putting up a lot more pictures up on here than I normally do, simply because I have so many to share with you all – I hope you enjoy them~

“2-17”

“After a mostly fitful night sleep for a multitude of reason I crawled out of our very small cabin and onto the deck to a beautiful sunrise that I got to sit in silence and enjoy while I smoked a cigarette. It took an hour or so before everyone else come poking out from below deck. We had a leisurely wake up followed by some very tasty breakfast tacos before heading around the island we were moored at our next destination. Jost Van Dyke – British Virgin Islands. A beautiful little port where we had to get signed in at the customs office and pay all applicable fees – which turned out to be a heckva lot more than any of us were expecting, but we got them out f the way and soon had jumped into the dinghy and headed into check out local bars and restaurants. Probably my favorite out of the bunch was a place called Corsairs… a pretty classic beach bar run by a couple of old hippie types guys. They made great drinks and had even better music playing. We sat there for a bit before going off to explore several other ‘recommended’ places. About 3 hours of sun sand, surf and lots of alcohol before our ride back out to the boat showed up. There was a ride we will all remember – 8 people in a small dinghy designed to hold 4 people…. At least it felt like it. We were riding low in the water in some pretty good waves and had a much longer ride back to the boat, as we had worked our way several miles down the island (via a taxi) —- We could have swam back to the boat and not been any wetter than we got on that boat ride back – but we laughed and had a good time with it. We stopped back at Corsairs one more time to dry out a bit before heading back out to the big boat.
Back on board more alcohol [except me – I had to weeny out….. I’ll tell you about it later] – a nice meal of Salmon, rice and veggies and now almost everybody with full bellies has crawled into their beds to sleep off a very long wonderful day and all are looking forward to what tomorrow brings. The boat sitting here rocking gently while I type this is starting to make me sleepy as well…… so gonna quit for the night.
Good Night Ya’ll * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Thankx for stopping in~!       ”

We’re BAAaaacck……….. :-)

Got back to the condo today about 4:00….. got our dirty clothes stashed, all of our drugs and things you have to have put back where they belong, made a drink and promptly plopped down in our chairs…….. WOW – what a fun, interesting, fact finding, challenging, entertaining, blow your mind kind of week. SOOO much to tell you about and even SOOOOO many more pictures for you. I took lots and lots and lots and lots of pictures and figure I have probably close to 700. Some funny, many gorgeous, should be something for everybody. It will give you an insight to what we have been doing the last 7 days……. I did manage to get a little bit written while out on the water….. so most of them I will just copy and paste. Some nights were a little heavy with alcohol on a rocking boat, so typing was a challenge some nights……. some nights it didn’t happen at all…… here is the first night~~~

“2-16-2020

Up bright and early for the first day of our trip….. wound up like a kid at Christmas in anticipation of making our way over to St. John and getting our new floating ‘home’ for the next week. Up packed and finally out the door to meet up with Dave and Liz for our very short hop across the Sea to St. Thomas and another short ferry ride to St. John to meetup with our boat Kindred Spirits. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it – we wound up over on St. Thomas much earlier than needed, so we met up with the other couple (Randy & Misty) and started hitting bars as we worked our way to our rendezvous point with the boat. Not sure at this point whether that was a good idea or not, but lawd have mercy was it fun. We finally made it aboard the kindred Spirit, meeting Dulcey (our Captain) and Derek (mate). Fun couple that I’m looking forward getting to know.

We pulled into what was to be our stay for the night and enjoyed multiple plunges into the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea, and well as copious amounts of alcohol. We finally settled down to some of the best steak I have had since leaving the mainland…… very nicely done and accented with smashed taters and some asparagus.

Several hours later and most of our group is soundly passed out below deck. There is one of the most AWESOME breezes you ever want to experience wafting through t he upper deck now. My Queen is sitting out on the back deck with a drink, a cigarette and I think truly enjoying herself now…… all is right with the world. As the boat sits and rocks gently with the waves, I’m finding myself struggling to keep my eyeballs open. It should be a great night sleep. I took 131 pictures today……. I can’t wait to share them with you. For now…….. I’m gonna have a quick smoke and probably crawl in to bed and try to get some sleep in anticipation of what should be a really great day tomorrow……

Up a hellva lot earlier this morning than I planned after not getting to sleep until 01:30 this morning. Woke a LOT earlier than I planned but very happily with almost zero aches and pains. I didn’t get a lot of sleep, but what I got was some of that ‘good’ sleep. Took it pretty easy today, sprucing the place up a bit and starting packing plans for our trip. Errands and odds and ends out of the way – we went up to Blues for a “couple” of drinks and to bid adieu for the next week…….. what a wonderful, wonderful bunch of folks that hang out at that place. We left after last call and I had a hankering for some Mickey D’s – so we headed down to the local place……. good Lord almighty what a cluster f**k……… 8 minutes just to get to the speaker to place our order and then 18 minutes to the pickup window (that is actually fairly quick for this location).  Course we didn’t find out about the order being mostly wrong until after we got back here…. I’m not gonna go into the details but ~!@#$%^&*IOP{POIU&Y^%$#@Q what an experience~! I lit them up on their survey web site – course, I usually do, but it doesn’t change anything….. still makes me feel a [[little]] bit better when I b*tch about it though……….

I wanted to get you a paragraph or two tonight and a couple of pictures I snapped while sitting up at Blues……. want to make sure you know – we take off tomorrow morning for a 7 day sail boat cruise around the British Virgin Islands and there is an above average chance, I will probably not have enough signal to get a phone call let alone be able to post anything on here. My plan is to take my lap top and do a blog each night (if I’m sober enough) on a word document – then copy and paste it when I get back to internet capability…… so please don’t give up on me….  We are going to be living aboard a 42′ catamaran sailboat sailing (https://sailkindredspirit.com/ ) around some of the most gorgeous waters on the planet…… rest assured – I’m going to have a LOT of pictures by the time we get back to share with you……… So thankx for stopping in tonight and look forward to pictures that will almost guarantee to make you hate me when you look at them…….   😉

Good Night Ya’ll ……… Smooth sailing [hopefully]…. I’ll see you in a week or so~~

Valentines day at Blues

Much to tired and much to late to ramble on for very long folks…… been a long brutal night for the old fat boy. Once we had the yard set up for the Valentines day special, my bride worked taking care of the diners, while I bar backed for Tim…… and it was a workout. Three and a half hours non-stop of stocking beer coolers and running to the supply room for needed items. Not even one smoke break in that time span…… just to give you an idea of how busy I stayed……. so for now – I’m gonna put up some pictures and then hit the showers. I’ll be putting up some more tomorrow, probably early as the plan is to hit a ‘Sausage Festival’ tomorrow evening. Can’t get real torn up tomorrow (well, I can, just don’t plan on it because of traveling Sunday) but probably won’t get anything up in the evening, so look for it earlier in the day.

Good Night Ya’ll : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :: Thankx for stopping in~!

Workin’ at Blues….

Up and about after a reasonably decent night…. we both went ‘downtown’ for a hair appointment. My Queen was having her usual stuff done and I needed trimmed up as my hair [both of them] was getting out of control. I sat patiently as Gail put in roughly a half a box of aluminum foil onto my Queens cranium while ‘painting’ it with what looked like what can only be described as wall paper glue. That concoction had to sit for 20 minutes or so, which was about the perfect amount of time needed to get my wild and untamed locks whipped back into submission. As soon as Gail was done with me…. I moseyed off in search of a beer and a burger, as I was starving at that point. I was told it would be about 40 minutes or so before Angie was done….. So I waited 90 minutes before going to search for my bride. ( I had more than one beer)  😉 She was just finishing up as I walked back into the salon. I gathered her up and headed back to the condo to get cleaned up and ready to head up to Blues.

They had what I believe to be a record crowd up there tonight…. guesstimating 125+ people or so. Kept the bar hopping, but kept the food staff hopping even more so…… more eaters than drinkers tonight. Blues normally shuts down at 8:00 pm on Thursdays, but we didn’t get out of there until well after 9:10…… and my knees and back are telling me about it. Back here, I have already popped 3 Anacin and ready for a shower and some sleep…… so I’m gonna quit right here.

Another night up at Blues tomorrow for Valentines….. will be more server type stuff tomorrow night….. I’ll celebrate Valentines with my Queen later….. for now…

Good Night Ya’ll – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Thankx for stopping in~!

I had CRABBS……

Enjoying a long peaceful day yesterday, taking it easy from a fun night the night before up at Blues. Just about the time I would have started thinking about writing my Blog, my bride reminded me that we had a dive club meeting (CRABBS) to go to. Dammit Emmit – not sure how I managed to forget about that – but I did, so I had to scramble to get paperwork I needed printed out and get cleaned up and ready to head out. A nice turn out and the meeting went a little long. I hung out afterward chatting with some friends and wound up getting just a little bit snockered…… so by the time I got home all I wanted to do was crash….. I jumped on FB to post pictures on the clubs FB page and then promptly fell into bed….. so, sorry about that, but you’ll have that ever now and again.

Today was kind of a repeat of yesterday, except I did get out to run laundry up. We haven’t had it done in quite a while, and we needed clean drawers and such to get ready for our up coming trip…… so I came back and had a bite to eat while we watched a whole bunch of our newest series. Scandal – recommended by my # 1 fan Vera — It could have a little more action in it – but we both like it now and get more and more into with each episode. We are just about to wrap up season # 2 now.

I eventually got up and ran up to pick up laundry, came back and we put everything away before settling down to some smashed taters, green beans and Salisbury steaks…. man I love them things~! Figured I better get on here and sound off a little bit. Might miss the next couple of nights, as we will be working up at Blues for Valentines and some more of Mama’s Black Sheep….. so better get a word in when I can. I’ll do my best to try and get something up here for you though~~~

What a [uncooperative] Monday……

Up a touch earlier than I wanted to, but had to get morning stuff out of the way…. to be ready for a day of diving. Looking off our patio said that it would be a bouncy ride to our dive spot and a little bit of a challenge to get back on the boat once you were off of it. Getting off of the boat is always a LOT easier than getting back on it….. especially in big waves….. but I happily bailed from the back of the boat into a dive spot I have not been before. Always a fun dive when you’re diving somewhere new. Dropped directly onto a couple of sharks that provided some very fun entertainment. While the rest of the group went about their merry way – I hung out for some pictures and to see just how close I could get to them. I did manage a couple of decent pictures and one fun little video. I tried to keep it short enough I could post it on here……… Second dive was an old favorite…. it held a couple of [uncooperative] sharks and one big [uncooperative] sting ray, but still gorgeous and fun to watch. Safely back on the boat, even though the day went a little long…. soon back to shore, a couple of ice cold Budweiser’s,  a Marlboro or two and I headed back to my  Bride.

Got my pictures uploaded, and a shower and we decided we needed to head up to Blues. We sat out most of last week and we needed our ‘fix’. It was 3:30 and I was starvin’ by then as I foolishly skipped out on something to eat before I went diving. A drink or 3 and I ordered me a big ole burger with pickle and onion…… I got it and inhaled about ¾ of it before offering up a bite to my Queen, who quite fort righteously inhaled the remainder of it…….. Dammit Emmit…. it was only supposed to be a bite~! Oh well Mach Nix…… I can make me a sammich when I get home…… little did I know that would be another 2+ hours or so. Lots of fun conversation before Tim finally bellowed out last call…….. I loaded up my Queen, back at our abode… and a quick turkey and ham sammich in me….. Here I sit chatting with you all. I got lots of fun pictures for you today and will put them up over the next several days…………

S-L-O–O-O-W…….

Nuthin’ for ya tonight….. only thing slower than today was, is our internet right now…. I almost couldn’t get logged on here tonight. Only perk to that is I don’t have any new pictures for you….. it’s a perk cause I probably couldn’t get them to load anyway. I do have a couple of dives scheduled for in the morning, so at the very least I should have a bunch of new pictures for you.

Good Night Ya’ll . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Thankx for stopping in~!
