Birthday Thursday…..

Gobbled up some Advil PM last night before bed and did some serious sleeping last night….. Ooh-Rah~! Up only once to whizz and then got woke up by the alarm…. first time in a very long time that has happened……. and I don’t miss it not nary one little bit – BUT – I was going diving and much like getting up early to go fishing – getting up for either reason is acceptable~! I “sprang” [using the term loosely] from bed to silence my alarm and stumbled on out of our wonderfully cool bedroom. Very happily, my Queen stayed where she was at and did not make an appearance for a bit. I got my bathroom stuff done and settled in to review the headlines for the day…. jeez what a mess……. It scares me to think what my kids and especially my Grandkids are growing up into……. I just hope enough of my hard as nose upbringing rubbed off onto my girls that they did the same for their kids…… from what I have seen so far – I think we’re good.

I opted to skip some kind of breakfast, even though I was ‘starvin’ ‘ and headed into town to meet the boat. 10+ minutes early – but on time– I was the only one on the boat. I set up my diving gear and then my camera gear. Sat and twiddled my thumbs for another 10 minutes or so…. yeah- 08:30…. hell, I could have went ahead and had something to eat. Dammit Emmit~! Working on the no smoking thing….. I didn’t bring my cigarettes with me – which is good, because I would have been ‘forced‘ to get off the boat and have one…… I haven’t completely quit yet….. but I’m down to way under a half a pack a day now….. small steps.

Everyone finally showed up and we motored all the way around to to the North shore to a favorite dive site [Captain Morgan]. Beautiful dive site, but oddly, zero sharks…… I don’t know if they are all on vacation or what – but shark siting’s are rare here lately. I’m not worried though…… another long motor back around to the West end and a shallow reef dive – produced  a Green Moray Eel [my fav] and a baby Nurse shark — can’t complain about that. A very nice relaxing dive.

Back at the house – gear rinsed, pictures uploaded, a tasty dinner [not counting some pretty ragged corn on the cob] – some wonderfully delicious biscuits…. a shower and here I sit….. clean, smelling mostly decent, liquored up, chatting with you….. Had intended to dive tomorrow until I remembered we are working at Blues tomorrow afternoon…… and this old fat body ain’t up for two morning dives AND an evening of bar backing…… so – with that being said – working at Blues and there probably won’t be a blog tomorrow night because it will be entirely too late by the time we get back here……. but we’ll see~~

Happy Birthday to “My ‘Squirt”, Samantha and Lisa [R]~~~!!!

Good Night Ya’ll } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
