Holy Crapola……….

Been quite the day for the old fat boy and his Queen Ya’ll……. as stated yesterday – up at 03:30 in the a.m. to get our flight out of Evansville. Alarm went off promptly at the set time……. That is about the only thing that went like it was supposed to today……… Our flight got delayed, then ‘pushed back’ then we set on the tarmac for 45 minutes….. Finally got into the air, landed here in Atlanta [yes- I said here in Atlanta]. Hustled all the way through 3 concourses to get to our connection gate, just in time to watch them pull the gangway away from our airplane~! Dammit Emmit~!! I got my bride settled into a smoking lounge and for the next 2+ hours ran around that airport trying to get us a new plane ticket home……. ain’t gonna happen Captain~!! I am satisfied I gave it 100% only to have to accept the fact that we were not only going to have to stay the night in Atlanta – we were going to have to stay 2 nights in Atlanta…… Geeeesh what a clusterf**k~! I don’t like to use that expression on here – but it is the only way to describe it……. So accepting the inevitable, we got a room at the local Marriott. Both starving as it is now 3:30 in the afternoon and we had not eaten yet…. we took the advice of the local bar maid at the airport and tried out a place called Max Lager. Supposedly had a decent steak for my Queen. The place was big and clean and smelled like I’m sure heaven smells. Angie ordered her a steak while I opted for the ribs I was sure I was smelling. Keeping it short cause I’m gonna crash [again] here soon…. The steak was “Heh – not bad” and my ribs, while very nicely prepared, lacked the ‘umph’ I was looking for. We had a fairly tasty piece of Key Lime pie before hailing another taxi to haul us back to the hotel.

We got back around 6:00 and both fell into bed exhausted waking up some 2+ hours later, hence why this is going up so late…… we also may have had a liiiiitttttle bit to drink while we were out.   😉 Gonna put up some pictures from today…. again…. unedited, so tonight you’re getting what you’re getting like last night….. once back on our beautiful little island, I’ll clean them up and put some of the better ones up – with captions. We are supposed to meet up with dear friends tomorrow who live right outside of Atlanta for what should be a fun filled day with them (which is a huge bright spot in this mess). Until then friends, family and sports fans…. bedtime for us……

Good Night Ya’ll * * * * * * * * * * * * * Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
