Painting and shopping…….

Showed up again bright and early for painting detail this morning and went almost straight to work. Putting on an oil base paint over top of a latex paint….. never a good idea, but not my call. Paint doesn’t ‘take’ very well (blue over white), so will probably have to do another coat. Finished the whole back quarter of the building that gets the blue color (over the cooking area). Rest of the area will be white over white……. picked up a small Porter Power painter. Going to try and shoot it and see if that works any better. There is a ton of nooks and crannies and getting into them with a brush is dang near impossible. Sprayer should work much better, giving a better looking paint job and take a fraction of the time. If it works as good as I suspect – I’ll probably shoot the blue area instead of brushing it a second time. Finished up the painting in time to help put the bar back together for opening at 11:00 and then headed back to the condo.

Loaded up my Queen and headed out for some shopping in preparation for the arrival of our oldest Daughter and her family this weekend. Geez Louise – I had no idea we needed that much stuff~! Not saying we spent a lot of money, but K-mart went ahead and closed up after we left saying they had made their quota for the day  😉    But we have everything we should need for the impending visit…… goggles, snorkels, masks, noodles, swimmies and various other fun stuff needed to enjoy the water world available when they get here  🙂

After we got Double D’s unloaded, we headed up to Blues for a bite to eat and a couple of drinks. I had my Smoked Turkey, Bacon and ranch sammich and my Bride had some wings. After filling our bellies, we headed back for some binge watching of a new series we were told about by former neighbor Vera J.   Series is called Justified. It supposedly ran on FX – but I never saw it advertised. Don’t know how I missed it, but it is a very entertaining show about a slick (and fairly decent looking) U.S. Marshall working in Eastern Kentucky. Funny, entertaining and well produced. We just started the second series, not sure how many there are – but it is a nice change from Gordon Ramsey and his kitchen stuff. Getting ready for bed because I am going back for more painting and starting even earlier in the morning tomorrow and I need my beauty sleep (apparently a LOT more than I have been getting). I don’t have hardly any ‘new’ pictures to put up – so will load some older ones that I enjoy — I hope you do too.

Good night ya’ll — Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
