Wrapping up the week – – – kinda………..

Friday has came and pretty much went by this point – and I would normally take Saturday and Sunday off…… simply because I’m not real shot in the a$$ about the group of folks we usually get on weekend boats….. but some gentle hints have goaded me into diving again tomorrow…… it is supposed to be a small boat….. (only a handful of people)…. supposed to be…… we’ll see. The boat is out on this end of the island this weekend….. so I don’t have the usual hour of driving involved – plus – my most favorite dive site is on this end…… Armageddon~! Speaking of which – I got to dive it this morning and it did not disappoint. One fairly friendly shark – a big old Hawksbill turtle that dang near run over me and lots and LOTS of gorgeous corals and sponges~! What made it even more enjoyable, we had a pretty good [albeit BIG] group of folks on the boat – but they were all mostly solid divers and fun to be in the water with……. and one of the great things about both dives……. the visibility~!!! BOTH sites had 100+’……. that makes the diving (and the picture taking) SO much more enjoyable~!

I am taking Sunday off though…….. I have to let my stuff actually dry out once in a while – as well as a couple of cuts on my legs that will just not heal up as long I soak them them in the Sea for an hour and a half or so each day…….. plus – I don’t want to get burned out…. although I don’t see that happening anyway soon….. but still – good practice to take a day off or so every once in a while….. whether you need it or not.

Life goes on here on the island…… it’s starting to [feel] warmer now as our winds start laying down. I do see where we have a little disturbance sitting out NE of us that could turn into a mess….. it is forecast to go North of us – but everybody is keeping their fingers crossed for a little cooler weather, a breeze and hopefully lots of rain.

My Bride starts her regime of working for Gecko’s for the next 3 weeks as they go visit Alaska……. I have been given a reprieve from working  for them as I have been replaced by a young man they hired. I cannot honestly say I am upset about it — I like doing the tours, but you have to put up with a whole different class of folks doing that than what you typically do on a dive boat. Plus – diving is a whole lot easier on the old fat boy that rattling around those trails 2 or 3 times a day. I will always jump in and help if needed – but am quite content to spend my days inhaling salt air out on the boat instead of trail dust……

Good Night Ya’ll * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
