Mud, dust, weeds and fun…….

Another day on the trails….. mediocre nights sleep again – but up and at ’em with the sunrise, ready for whatever the day wanted to throw at us. A couple of small challenges to start with, but none to impede what was to be hopefully a good day~! Finally – got the first group together, briefed and on our way…..  they did good…. not a whole lot of acting up…. Not great drivers, but not bad. Didn’t have to bail out of my machine to get anybody out of the weeds, which automatically makes it a better day. Not a real interactive group, but mostly enjoyable as groups go~~ Had one little bitty feller spend most of the ride with me…. we made big splashes through lots of mud puddles, I let him ‘drive’ a little bit and we had a ball. A fine and dandy little co-pilot~!

Second group – a little more advanced group and the tour moved along at a pace that was most enjoyable. I had another ‘co-pilot’ for the entire tour again, a beautiful young lady who tolerated [very well] my antics as I zoomed and jockeyed for positions to get some decent shots. She only grabbed for the OH SHOOT handles a couple of times as I scrambled around to bring up the rear and get those ‘hard to get’ shots. A lot more animated and considerably more fun than the first group…… all was going well until one young lady ‘put it in the weeds’….. well into the weeds. I bailed out and got to her, made sure she was unharmed, jumped on her bike and brought us back up onto the trail. Like most that do that – for the rest of the tour, she was much slower and more cautious, which is not a bad thing…… but it kinda changes the tempo of the tour. Safely back at the yard – there was lots of smiles and good conversation about the experience – so I’m satisfied, as a whole, everyone enjoyed themselves. Bikes washed, fueled and put away until next time, my Queen and I headed to the house.

Pictures edited and loaded onto FB – a wonderfully delicious meal of Spaghetti and meatballs, a shower and here I be. Tomorrow, a day off that is highly anticipated…. [hopefully] sleep in a little bit….. a nice breakfast that I haven’t had all week (my fault)….. and just taking it easy for the day. Actually have 2 days off, but a local woman saw my handy work on the porch at the ATV yard on FB and has “pleaded” with me to come look at some work she desperately wants done….. so Monday I have some running to do plus look at another possible job….. but for now – going to enjoy my time ‘off’…… being happily retired and all~~~~   😉

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
