Tryin’ out the new lights~!

Up early in eager anticipation of getting in the water today. First off – it’s been a minute since I have been diving – and – two: I had my new lights to try out and this was gonna be the perfect dives to try them on~!  Shawn and his Daughter Kaidence were on the dive, so I had people subjects to ‘shoot’ whether they wanted me to or not. At the dock early, loaded my gear onto the boat and we were soon on our way. Put my dive gear together and then sat down to get my camera ready….. that’s a new routine for me, as my little GoPro – all I  had to do was turn it on. Got my camera ready… put the setting where [I thought] they were supposed to be and was soon falling over backwards out of the boat.  Well sir…… I apparently thought wrong. I tried a bunch of different settings while under the waves trying different techniques….. only to find out when I got back home….. none of them worked. Dammit Emmit~!  After some readin’ and studying…. I think I need to sync the flash to the camera (I thought I had done that already…. but apparently need to do it every time I start a new day of diving. Also watching a dozen videos and reading another dozen articles….. I’m pretty sure I had the flash mode set on the wrong setting. I’m gonna do some experimenting in our [dark] bedroom after the sun goes down to be sure. I have a paying photo shoot tomorrow for a Discover Scuba Dive tomorrow and I need to make sure I get it right this time. I also plan on bringing my little GoPro with me tomorrow – to double ensure I get enough satisfactory shots to keep the customer happy.

Somewhere in the middle of that first paragraph – I paused to run out and get some pizza~! (and inhale some of it) Shawn talked about pizza a couple of times during the dives today and I have had a pizza ‘itch‘ for a while anyway – so it just seemed like the thing to do. Still not Turoni’s pizza – but pretty dang tasty for island pizza. Plus it helped sooth a bruised ego from lousing up all those gorgeous pictures I ‘could have’ had today. (including a giant green Moray eel~!) So I’m gonna leave it with you, load my very blue pictures from today and go practice with my camera in the dark…..

Good Night Ya’ll ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” ” Thankx for Stopping in~!

Lots of new Sargassum…. definitely don’t miss that stuff~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
