May the One~th……………..

Woke up to the new month after a reasonable nights sleep. We had a pretty good little storm blow through last night which helped cool things off a little and made for better sleeping, listening to the rain hitting the roof. Another really slow day…. breakfast… I did manage to spend 45 minutes on the phone with the local cable/internet company, trying hard not to express my extreme dis-pleasure with their service. The dude had me perform a bunch of different tasks/tests before finally saying he would have to send someone out [on Monday!]….. great, gotta put up with half ass internet over the weekend. We settled into watching TV. We had seen where a new season of Bosch came out and we liked it, so we went back to it, to finish this newest season (6).We weren’t into 2 episodes when internet went completely out. Dammit Emmit. That is not a brutally uncommon occurrence, so we turned on the cable channel (for background music) and I’ll be damned if it wasn’t out too! Again….. not terribly uncommon, so we found other things to do to occupy our time. If you think quarantining is a pain the touchas…. try it without cable or internet~! That went on for about 3 hours before I started getting really annoyed. I finally called Viya back (cable/internet company), it was then 4:45…. only to say their office was closed, but then the recording goes on to say they’re open until 6:00. Ya gotta love island life…….. I made that call 3 more times before finally giving up on it….. same recording each time.

So my Queen played her game on her phone and I piddled around…. working on the pile of stuff in the second bedroom, trying to figure out what we’re gonna do with all that stuff. Took multiple smoke breaks and during one of them I remembered my little hot spot that I had purchased for just such occasions. It took me a little bit to find it – but I got it hooked up and charging and before long – we had internet~! Not good internet, not fast internet – but we had internet~! Things returned to a little more of normal. Now at least I could do my night time stuff. As I’m sitting here writing this… I see the lights on the modem flashing and becoming solid……. now that I check it…. our internet is back. Don’t know about cable yet…. but now we can stream movies again. So looks like we are back to as normal as it will probably get on this island.  I think I’m gonna start walking tomorrow. I think I said that once already…. but going to make a better effort tomorrow. I think it will do my legs, lungs, back and belly all some good. If I can get my belly down a little bit – hopefully I’ll be able to start kayaking too~! One thing at a time though.

Good Night Ya’ll : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
