Fish Fry at The Fred~~

Today was mostly a down day as we laid around and kinda recouped from the Oktoberfest from last night. We really didn’t get THAT torn down while we were there, but the heat kinda took it’s toll on my Bride. I made us a nice breakfast and we sat and watched our newest series “Goliath“.  It stars Billy Bob Thorton and even though he is a loud mouth punk a$$ actor – I enjoy most of what he does. We are just about through the first season already and have been enjoying it – so “I reckon we’ll finish the rest MmHMmmm”  (reference Sling blade)  The time finally rolled around for the Fish Fry at the Fred that I had kind of been waiting on… so we spiffied up a little bit and headed West. We ran through a pretty good little rain shower on the way – but it did not dampen our spirits as we were both looking forward to some fried fish~!

Our first time at The Fred (the islands newest hotel) – they advertise and kind of cater to the younger more opened minded folks…. very nicely remodeled, a nice pool and right on what is left of the beach. Most of the sand has been sucked out to the Sea leaving a rocky shore – but still have those calm blue waters and sunsets that is every photographer or artists dream……. We had a couple of very well made drinks before ordering our dinner. Because my Queen wanted fish – I opted for the shrimp figuring we could share and taste both. We both got hush puppies with garlic butter as a side. [I thought] the fish left a lot to be desired…. but that is coming from somebody raised on Louisiana style fried fish… so really not a fair comparison. I thought the shrimp was tasty and well done – and the hush puppies were presentable…… so giving it 3 stars. I really can’t condemn the cook…. they gave him some pretty puny equipment to work with……..

We finished our meal and another drink while watching the crown around the pool and the bar -AND a spectacular sunset. I took way to many pictures of it – but you just can’t help yourself….. I’ll put the bulk of them up and you figure out which one YOU like~~ A new week tomorrow and no idea what it is gonna bring. I know I have t try and get DD back and then get DD 2.0 into the shop — I have a bogus charge on my debit card from a local place….. so I may have to go down and confront them (friends say they have bogus charges from this place as well)…and some where in that mix – I hope to squeeze in at least another couple of dives…… so we’ll see what happens~!

Good Night Ya’ll ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) Thankx for stopping in~!

((We actually have a big 175 lb turtle digging her body pit right now~!!!))

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
