Confounding Tuesday

After a much more restful nights sleep last night – rolled out to no new turtle tracks, some clouds and not a breath of air. We sure are ready for our ‘Christmas Winds‘ here. It really hasn’t got any hotter here – but when our wonderful trade winds lay down and you can’t buy a breath of air……. it gets might toasty, mighty quick~!

After a nutritious breakfast – I dutifully headed out to see the young lady Bob told me about to help expedite my paper work to take lawful ownership of DD 2.0.  After navigating a miserable half hour of bumper to bumper traffic I arrived at her office. Naturally she wasn’t there. I called a furnished phone number, asked a couple of questions and found out I did not have half as much documentation as I needed. Dammit Emmit~! So  I motored back to the condo, called previous owner of DD 2.0 and got needed paperwork lined up to be dropped in the mail. The title was not signed correctly, so I have to send that back – so I dropped it in an envelope and ran up to the local post office. I got it on it’s way and halfway back to the condo realized I left my phone laying on the counter at the Post Office. Dammit Emmit~! Hung a U-Turn and went back to the Post Office as fast as island traffic would allow. Dammit Emmit~! Thankfully – phone was still there…. Halfway back to the condo [again] – I got a phone call from exterminator (Carl) saying he had a cancelled appointment and could squeeze me in today…. (reference termite issue)…… I just barely beat him to the condo. He very quickly diagnosed the issue and since I told him I was paying for it and did not need landlord approval….. launched right into the fix. I use the term ‘fix’ loosely. He took a small needle and injected two small squirts of what looked like a nasty soft drink into the shelving where he showed me previously where the dropping were coming from. 10 minutes tops – $ 250.00 please. Ouch, but from what I understand, that is a really good price [[especially if it works]] and from what I have seen so far it IS working….. Yay~!  I notified the landlord and he was exceptional cool about the whole thing and said just take it out of the rent. Another Yay~!

Trying to enjoy what was left of the day – my bride decided she wanted some KFC….. I required a drink before I went after it…. kind of a bracer for my nerves. Amazingly – I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and it was almost a pleasant experience…. almost. Bellies full of KFC and a couple of episodes of The Dead Zone and here I am….. chatting with you all. During all the goings on today – I did manage to get signed up for a 2-Tank dive tomorrow morning (Yay)….. so even though the day seemed confounding….. I actually got some stuff done and didn’t loose my mind in the process. Maybe I’m starting to become island’ized‘  😉

Good Night Ya’ll – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
