and awaaaaaaay we go~~~~~~~>

Rolled out bright and early this a.m. in anticipation of our impending ‘ change of scenery’. We woke up with coffee and our usual routine. Before long, we packed up — cleaned stuff out of the fridge we didn’t think would make it until we got back and loaded up into DD to head out. We decided the best thing to do would be stop by Blues Backyard BBQ for a drink (or 4) before we left and say good bye to some of our most favorite people on the island and pick up any last minute tips on things to do here on St. Thomas (feels really weird to say that). Multiple drinks under our belt, we headed for the sea port. For our first excursion to STT (St. Thomas) I wanted to take the sea plane. We watch it fly by the house several time a day on it’s return from STT. I’m hoping on our return, I can get a couple shots of the condo from the air  😉  We got loaded up and away we went~!  I don’t guess I’ve ever flown on a sea plane before – it was cool as hell, even though we sat RIGHT NEXT to the prop. I told my Bride if one of those blades comes off, we are hamburger…. probably not the best tiding to mention at the beginning of the flight but that is just how my mind works…….. Anyhow… cool, cool, cool take off. I have some pictures and videos of it – but the video is waaay to big to put on here, so you’ll either have to skip it or watch it on FB. [[sorry]]

We arrived without issue 20minutes after take off. Landing was a bit funky from my perspective, because about all you could see was houses as we came in for the landing….. a little unnerving – but cool as hell~!!! It took a lot more effort to get our vehicle once we were here than I would have liked – but we finally got it and took off for our destination – Margaritaville Resort. After 20 minutes or so of my navigation – I opted to engage ‘Seri’ and have her tell me how to get to where we are going. She missed nary a turn and we were soon pulling into the resort. Nice little place – a little bit, check that – quite a bit, disorganized, but one of the first things they did was offer me a Margarita – so they are alright in my book~!! Finally got our room squared away…….. scenery to die for at the resort – looking almost directly at St.  John (STJ). We both agreed we needed something in our belly besides booze  (neither of us had eaten all day) – so we headed to the Margaritaville restaurant for a bite. My Queen got a classic Cheeseburger while I opted for a turkey club. Wasn’t going for the healthy thing – I was looking for something to soak up hooch —- but yay me for the healthy thing  😉

Bellies full (of food and booze) we have waddled back to the comfort of our room, cranked down the A/C, because I don’t have to pay extra for it now….. and here I sit and regale you of the day. I have 80+ pictures for you — will not get them all put up tonight – but will spread them out over the week. Over my limit (yes I found my word counter) 😉  More tomorrow~!

Good night Ya’ll ….. Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)

    1. Hi Vera – What a heart warming comment….. it makes my heart warm to get these kind of comments…. especially from you. I would give anything to have you spend the day at one of ‘our’ beaches and help you enjoy the underwater life here. I don’t know if you have ever swam in salt water but you have to make ZERO effort to float – the salt water lets you float easily…. and the life under the water will absolutely almost take your breath away. I LOVE the suggestion about the video – only problem is, this web site won’t let me put up a video longer than about 10 seconds long….. maybe put it on FB – but I have about 50 followers who won’t get on FB….. decisions, decisions…. but I’ll work on it. So very great to hear from you – You wait until you see tomorrows pictures– it’s gonna be EPIC~! ( and I am an ‘Old Dam River rat’ from way back~!) 😉
