Productive day : )

Well my getting up and taking a nice long walk to work off this ever growing beer belly didn’t work worth a damn this morning…….. slept in a little bit (06:45) got up and had my one coff of cuppee and had to launch into a couple of phone calls to work out some issues back in the states…… It is really hard to make people back there understand just how different of an environment it is here in the islands….. like intermediately slow internet….. mail that should take 3 days now takes 14 days….. that kind of stuff.    AT&T in their infinite wisdom, wants to charge me another $ 209.00 for a defective hot spot that I had to send back – because it did not get sent back in their allotted 10 day time frame……. it took 3 different phone calls and about a total of an hour on the phone with 3 different people to make them understand that I did what I was supposed to do — in their friggin’ time frame — I just don’t have any control over how long the U.S. Postal Service takes to do their thing from here……. I mailed the hot spot back on the 23rd of March — it still has not got there yet.  Jeeeez~!

After that, I had to put together a spreadsheet with corresponding receipts for substitute landlord, to be reimbursed for items we bought that should have already been in the condo……. We may be living in paradise – but are still dealing with regular everyday kind of headaches…… no worries though…. when my head got to hurting or my nerves were getting shot – I’d go out on the back porch and light a cigarette and watch and listen to those waves crashing in on the beach – and it didn’t take long for everything to be alright again……..   : )

After a nice breakfast my bride whooped up – we headed out to finish up finding needed items. We abruptly stopped in at a furniture store we had missed and within 20 minutes had the bedroom furniture we needed, paid for and set up for delivery. A stop at the post office to pick up lots and lots of mail and we were headed for Blues for a celebratory drink, only to be called and told our furniture was being delivered (right then) – we actually met the delivery guys in our parking lot. Furniture was brought in and set up lickity-split and they were gone. HOT-Damn~! After 7+ months — We get to [[FINALLY]]  unpack our suitcases…. Woo-Hooo~!!!  : )  Well – we’ll do it tomorrow, because as soon as the furniture dudes left – we jumped back into DD and headed for Blues  😉  We sat and had a handful of drinks – chatted with folks for a while and finally came back home.

Watched a little bit of Kitchen Nightmares (we finished all the available Hell’s Kitchen’s) – had a bite to eat and getting ready for showers and some sleep — big day tomorrow — I’m gonna go pick up a grill and then come home so we can un-pack~!!

Going to see if internet will let me load some more pictures~!  Good night ya’ll …. Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)

  1. Thought for a minute a Casey Trela had moved his beer making over to your island,,,wow,,really looks like him,

  2. Nope – that is Timothy, one of the bartenders at our favorite hang out — He got a hold of Angie’s phone and was having some fun with it (she sent the pic to me) — he’s a good guy~ 🙂
