Getting settled……

Pretty calm day today….. got up early to get woke up enough before I took off to pick up my grill. A good friend gave it to me (Jim, one of the owners of Blues Back Yard) I pulled in at 08:00 and we loaded it up. I brought it back to the condo and managed to get one of the local maintenance guys to give me a hand getting it lugged around to our patio. It was in need of a serious cleaning – but the sun was beating down directly into where it was sitting so I opted to go inside and start on multiple projects waiting for me there…… I had a ton of mail to sort out, which included making various phone calls to address some of the mail I got. Finished up with that and got a clock hung up, some wall ornaments that my Queen wanted put up, which tends to be a chore when you’re working with poured concrete walls with a rough stucco finish – but I got-R-done~!

Opened up and installed my new printer and then sat down for a breakfast of bacon, sausage and pancakes. Breakfast sat kinda heavy (go figure) so I spent an inordinate amount of time sitting on the couch watching Kitchen Nightmares… when my belly finally stopped hurting so bad….. I went out and started working on my grill. Big ole thing – 5 burners with a side burner as well.  It apparently had seen quite a bit of use there at Blues, plus sitting unattended for a pretty good while – weather and dust had built up quite a bit on it too. I spent the next several hours working on the outside of it and have it looking almost like new. I still have quite a bit more work on it, but it will be worth it to have a nice big grill to cook on again. I have to go get a couple of propane tanks for it, and a cover and should be ready to go by tomorrow afternoon. I can’t wait and my bride is anxious to have one of my steaks~!

Finished up the evening with an entirely too big of plate of spaghetti, but I have had a hankering for it – so I made up for it….. now my belly hurts again… but oh so worth it. : )~

Gonna wrap it up here….. I don’t have any new pictures but will see if I can get a couple of others that I don’t think you’ve seen yet to load. Good night ya’ll ….. Thankx for stoppin’ in~!

………….well hell’s bells….. guess it’s a good thing I didn’t have a bunch of new pictures because our little ole hot spot ain’t feelin’ it tonight….. sorry – maybe tomorrow.

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
