A work out for the old fat boy……….

Up early again to meet the boat at the Salt River marina this morning….. my last hour of sleep sucks as I’m afraid I’ll miss the alarm… so my internal clock kicks in and I’m usually up well before the alarm. None the less – up and at ’em….. plug in and bump charge batteries for the flood light, the strobe and my camera. Bride finally joins me [tickled she slept in a bit] and we spend the next hour quietly mokin’…. drinking coffee and enjoying a nice cool morning. Time to go and I head out…. again, stupidly did not eat anything, but took a bottle of spark with me to drink on the way. I really need to get back in the habit of eating before I go – as these sessions are going 3½-4 hours long before I get back to shore. It’s good in that I don’t smoke that entire time…… but running on fumes by the time I get back – especially on days like to day – when the day runs really long and I have to do a LOT more swimming than usual. Probably good in the fight to reduce the size of my belly — but not so good in keeping my energy levels up. My ‘Spark’ ran out some where around noon….. the rest of my day was ran on pure adrenaline……We had a LOOOOONG  boat ride to our dive destination….. but oh so worth it. We were diving the wrecks on the NW  corner of the island….. SOOO many fish and coral life – plus watching the candidates do their thing around these beautiful structures. I got to ‘play’ with my camera while I watched that young lady and those gentlemen working on their ‘wrecks’ certification…..While I am more than qualified to dive wrecks – I do not have the card from PADI – that says I’m good at it – so I minded my P’s and Q’s while I shot pictures of them doing their thing. That dive finally done, we had a LOOONG  bouncy boat ride back to mid island.  I thank my lucky stars I am not prone to seasickness. If I was- this ride would have done me in.

I can honestly say, I am starting now, to feel comfortable with my camera and new lens – and am excited at the prospect of using it now, every time I dive~! Tropical Storm Laura has changed course and is now supposed to come right over top of us tomorrow…. woo-hoo. No one really worried as it will be ‘only’ a tropical storm…… I’m thinking my mask and a snorkel – I might get some fun pictures out of it~! Guess we’ll see. I think tomorrow is a day off from diving as the sea will probably be too rough to contend with…… Sunday is a maybe. Pretty sure ‘Island kids’ are supposed to be here for dinner tomorrow – that will be fun…… might be handy to have someone come ‘fetch’ me if I get caught up in the storm taking pictures……   😉

Good Night Ya’ll # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
