Diving and drinking…….

Up much, much earlier than I wanted – but went with it. Got to watch a gorgeous sun rise~! My Queen followed me out much, much earlier than I think she should have, but whadda ya gonna do ???  😉  I made myself a tasty little breakfast before gathering up all my stuff and heading out the door toward Salt River to make a 2-Tank dive with Cane Bay Dive Shop. Showed up in plenty of time to find only one other guy on the boat…… a third was scheduled…. but much like the douche on the last dive — we sat around and waited an extra half hour for someone who never bothered to call or show up….. but – having the boat almost to myself was wonderful. Rocked and rolled getting out to the dive site as the North shore continues to get hammered with bigger and bigger waves, which made for a wild ride. I got some video of it, which probably don’t do it justice but we’ll see (if I can get it to load).

West wall of Salt River was the first dive…… probably the nastiest dive I’ve had since being on the  island. Visibility SUCKED…. 30′ at best….. my mask was leaking, I couldn’t get my buoyancy right, there was a damn current and my breathing was out of control…. just a nasty, nasty dive. Visibility was so bad [how bad was it]…. I only took a total of 13 pictures on the dive and several of them were on the surface….. just nasty dive all the way around – but – I was under water~!

Second dive was so, so much better. ‘Vis’ jumped up to about 65′-70′, I got my mask and breathing issues figured out, relatively little current and I wound up taking another 45+ pictures. Didn’t keep as many as usual (due mostly to low light) and there were no ‘fun’ creatures (sharks, rays, turtles, etc.) – but still a very enjoyable dive.

Back to the condo, showered and pictures loaded and edited…. a couple of episodes of Heartland and we were soon off to Blues for a bite to eat…… and a drink or seven. We wound up shutting them down, but only after meeting new friends who just moved here this week and some just visiting…… always a good time at the Backyard…….

Back here now sucking up some conditioned air…… I don’t know if our internet is gonna let me get any pictures loaded or not as it is barely keeping up with me typing….. and trust me – I do not type that fast~!! But I will certainly try. Absolutely nothing scheduled for tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to it~!

Good Night Ya’ll – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
