Full day Tuesday~~

Rolled out this a.m. a skosh earlier than I would have liked…. but I had to pee so bad I could taste it…….. as I scurried toward my bathroom a glance at the clock told me it was quarter till 06:00….. a fact negated by the fact that, at this time of the year – it is still blacker than old Coles a$$ outside…….. I never really understood the depth of that statement – but it was a favorite of my Dad’s, and like many other of his ‘insights’ – I use it a lot. I have discovered, ironically, there is one huge similarity between living in the desert and living on an island…… The sun comes up AND disappears…like that [[snapping fingers]]….. this time of year – at 05:45, there is NO sunlight….. by 06:15 – you can drive without headlights~! That flat horizon out there is like a light switch. Kinda cool actually, but it sure does mess with an internal clock~! We both got up and moving and was out the door by 08:15 to be up at Blues for more fence painting. I spent an hour or so working on a project to light up a small Weber grill mounted up on the roof at Blues. It is a solar powered set up I am working with and lots of quirks don’t let me know if I’m doing any good until after dark or not. I have the grill about 1/2 way wired, but will have to wait for dark fall before I can do much else. I finally finished as much of that as I dared and set in painting. My Queen and I both spent the last couple of hours painting, wrapping up shortly before 11:00 and the place opened to the public. Afterwards, we sat and had 2 or 5 drinks and a bite to eat before heading back to the comfort of our condo. Sat down to enjoy the adventures of Jack Bauer on 24, before we had to pack up and head for the CRABBS meeting (local dive club). We arrived early enough to get the new PA system set up and take our place at he sign in table. Nice turn out – probably 60 people…. lots of new members, which is always a good thing. Tonight was a [dive] Trivia contest and it appeared everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. Evening finally over, we came back to discover that our air conditioner decided to not work so well any more…. I swear – even in paradise… it’s always something…… so instead of going back up to paint in the morning, we will hang out and try to get our A/C fixed. Kinda sad actually….. there is a wonderfully cool breeze of about 72° blowing out there, and we will have to try and get some sleep in a 79° apartment. We literally cannot open the windows for the breeze, as the salt in the air will reek havoc, with anything in the condo…… Ahhh – Island life. So no painting tomorrow while we try and get the A/C fixed…. Damn shame for the middle of Winter Huh ? 😉

Good night Ya’ll – – – – – – Thankx for stopping in~!

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)
