Tired and internet woes…….

Woke up again early this morning…… still getting used to the new place and all. New sounds, smells, etc. We don’t have ferry lights blasting into our window anymore like we did in the last place – thank goodness — or the sounds of the trucks unloading the ferry — but we also do not have the stellar internet we had there either….. and that makes me sad. That was something I got used to really quick and am not adapting well to the menial effort our little hotspot is putting out. Ah yes, island life…….. anyhow …. got up early again and watched another gorgeous sunrise while listening to waves pound the beach right outside our door. Sitting there with a cup of coffee and a smoke is a great way to wake up in the morning. Pretty darn nice way to wrap up the day as well (swapping out the coffee for a drink) as we get some pretty spectacular sunsets here as well.

I finished my standard 1 cup of coffee and decided I was going out for a walk. I have gotten out of that habit the past couple of months or so as we bounced around trying to find permanent housing and with Lil Sis visiting and so fourth…… so I told my Queen – I would let her ‘wake up’ while I went out for a stroll. Strapped on my walking shoes and off I went happily taking pictures as I eased out into the just now waking up world. I get to actually see all the stuff I have been driving by while on my walks, as I’m dodging potholes, or people who are dodging potholes…… so I have the time to look around and actually start seeing some things most drivers don’t. I went by one of the schools that got torn apart by ‘the storm’ (Hurricane Maria)…… kind of eerie walking around looking at the building that is not savable and already starting to be taken over by Mother Nature. Sadly, vandals have moved in and already left their marks – even though some of the artwork was actually pretty impressive. I moved from there on to another big building complex that I understand was once “Section 8” housing. Much like the school – it looks to be pretty much un-savable and too already being consumed by Mother Nature. I would really liked to have seen these two big buildings before ‘the storm’ so I could have some kind of context. I took a couple of pictures, but probably ain’t gonna be able to get anything loaded….. I just barely got logged in here tonight. I headed on toward where I figured the coast was and soon popped out onto the beach. Fun looking spot that I was looking forward to checking out, but about that time – ‘Nature’ reminded me that I had not answered her call before I left for my walk, so I scurried on down the beach back to our place to tend to that matter.

After a wonderfully large breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and biscuits & gravy — we retired to the couch for the bulk of the day to an impressive amount of dang near nothing…… I really do like being retired.  : )

Good night ya’ll…………… Thankx for stopping in~!    (wow – actually got some pictures to load~!! Walking pix later)

Born in Germany as an Army brat - I moved permanently to the United States about the time I was ready to start school - Dad put to me to work when I turned 13 tearing off roofs and packing shingles.. I did that, DE tasseled corn and bucked hay all the way through high school. After graduation, moved down South for a year or so trying to figure what I wanted to do. Finally came home and joined the Air Force serving almost 5 years - which included a 3 year tour in Germany, where I met my Queen. Came home and started working as a roofer. Economy went to crap and I knew I would not be able to support my growing family the way I wanted to, so I pestered the HR department at General Electric until they hired me. A very quick almost 34 years, 4 Daughters and 9 Grandkids later - here I am .... waiting as patiently as I can, to start the next chapter of our life - romping around in the Caribbean Sea checking out the various islands that we have not been to yet. Holy $hit what a ride~!!!! ;-)

  1. Looks comfortable, and nice,,,,what do you look at out of the front? Really like the way set up,I could get used to that, except ,I am not a water person,,so funny, asking anyone from my area,,Pumpkin Run, Stewartsville, Poseyville, ,,and the gals don’t know how to swim,,,something we did not do, if went to BlackRiver,,,waded in shallow water, with sand under our toes, if went to Mt Carmel .or Burdette, we sunbathed, spent very little time in water,,,,mainly went to”show off our bathing suits”to guys we were with,,,.still, this looks very relaxing,,,✔️ talk again soon,,❤️❤️ To both,, night💤💤💤. Lucky tonight. Severe storms ,but again, God is good, no hail or high wind-tornado,,now can sleep,,, about 6:00 ,AM,,,my usual time,,,stay up all nighpt. well in bed, raised up watching,Netflix, Hulu or Amazon,,,or,,,on iPad,,, life good as I can make it,,,if u need info on shows,,have some good ones,,,

  2. Hi Vera –
We really like our new place = as you can see, we have a view to ‘die for’ out the back. View out the front is the parking lot of the condo…. but we have never really been front door kind of people. Even there in ‘the Harm’ we always hung out in the back…… always thought the folks who came around back were the best anyway…. more of our kind of folks……
I haven’t gotten into the water yet here at our place, but will soon – “just to see what’s out there”… 😉 I completely get not being a water person growing up in Posey County…. but I openly jumped into every body of water I came across 😉 Wouldn’t have it any other way. ( and loved watching the girls “showing off their swim suits…… still do) 😉
We have very recently discovered the wonders of Amazon Prime. I have had a Prime account since it was offered, but never used it – didn’t realize what we were missing. Right now we are binge watching episodes of Hell’s Kitchen… love it.
Hope you are doing well — thankx for reading and it is always great to hear from you (even if you’re cheating on song titles) 😉
    Take care,
    Bill

    1. Think Hell’s Kitchen is a reality show,,,if you ever want to watch a good series on Amazon, try “JUSTIFIED”, not a regular cop show, stumbeled on it and after a few minutes was hooked,,,I felt I was living in Eastern Kentucky with drug dealers, peope that raised WEED, the famiies of Harlan Couty,,,so real, most times I have hard time with some vile language they put in whether needed or not,, but these characters were so believing,it wouldn’t feel real without the lanauge. I thought just me, but got some
hooked on it too,,,,Jim in Dallas watches
mostly sports, listens to music and etc,,,but he loved it too. Story of Dep Sherrif sent back to Ky,,,and having to “get the bad guys” who were family, friends etc,,,,just really good stuff,.,well written, well acted, and I feel like I spent a lot of time in Eastern Ky, had one of two best ending to series I have seen,,,,,,,,just throwing this out if you want a good show to watch sometime,,,
